EXTERNAL RESEARCH &PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
So far, The MA from Camberwell College of Art, University of the Arts London: Sculpture has given me the impetus to develop as an artist, both theoretically and practically. It provides me with a creative environment to further develop my critical thinking and my practice, specialty, methodology and research skills. Through various tutorials, criticism, and conversations with well-known artists, I deepened my research and thinking on my material, moving it in a more conceptual direction. In addition, the necessary writing work we have to engage in (such as artist statements) has greatly helped me improve the way I talk about my art practice. All the work I've done so far in this MA program -- from preparing the initial application to submitting work for each unit -- has ultimately led to building a strong visual and literal portfolio.
So, armed with new projects and a strong statement about the results of my studies here, I started applying for scholarships and awards big and small.
These include:
First of all, in the last few months, the most important application I made was to exhibit in an open Gallery, a Gallery in East London called Espacio Gallery(the show) created by individual Artists in London. For this exhibition, I chose a group of paintings and installations with a strong personal cultural background. The exhibition outside the campus allows me to face more audiences from all over the world, constantly interpret the meanings of different visual symbols and answer some questions about how to continue these symbols with strong cultural background if I continue to make art works in this field. Therefore, this exhibition is very important for my career development as an artist. As well as the more professional guidance and curatorial contacts I will gain through a series of introductions from teachers and artist friends of Ual's other colleges and participating in seminars, discussions and activities of each college, I will be greatly supported, especially for young artists like me.
On the other hand, I have contributed to some art awards, such as the British Ecology Design Award. This is directed by Britain's environment, the ecological design association awards, contribute the result I won a bronze medal, I think the insufficient place is also on the concept of combing the lack of a better logical, but fortunately, I also realized that I continue using natural organic material works that consciousness is a long-term significance of sustainable development, And through the promotion of Instagram and other social media, there are many related artists and I have discussed. So, this also gives me the motivation to continue to participate in more arts awards.
Recently, I have been communicating with professors in semiotics related fields in Sichuan University, China, and I plan to study for the doctoral degree of this tutor in the future. Based on the principles of semiotics, the professor has had some insights and research on the art field of artificial intelligence, as well as the popular topics of meta-universe and NFT for more than ten years. I now also in, from the perspective of the basic theoretical knowledge of the subject, understand symbols can be said to be the key to understand meaning, so the research principle of I think for me it is very valuable as visual artists, especially when the artist for commercial project cooperation, artist inner voice through their art derivatives were surrounding the audience to hear more.
Another important development direction is how I should create my own art icon and design a popup pop-up shop for art peripheral design products with art curation space. I have already started planning for 2021, and it will be a home for a diverse community of artists, architects, researchers and philosophers, as well as fashion culture enthusiasts. Our current partners include Cai, a postgraduate majoring in design from The City University of Macau, and Hao, an interaction designer working for a fortune 500 enterprise. We come from different backgrounds, which provides us with different perspectives to think about the planning of the entire art space. As a rigorous process, I will use the method of proposal writing to engage in team work and carry out a series of field visits.
As I majored in visual communication design during my undergraduate study, I had a certain foundation of web page making before I entered the master's program, but I mostly served for some party A companies. The further professional experience I gained through the master's program was to develop my web design skills. It broadened the channels for me to present my work on social media.
Finally, gained some experience in creating ceramic works and professional equipment in the ceramic and gypsum studio of the college, which was very valuable. This process allowed me to further develop my artistic practice and experiment with different materials and techniques for the first time. I am looking forward to starting my series of ceramic works for the final exhibition.
