ARTIST STATEMENT

My work usually deals with the concepts of identity and cognition and the future of society under the influence of cutting-edge technology in the world.

In terms of media selection, I use a large number of Found Objects in practice, which is about some of my creative ideas in materialism and Arte Povera. At the same time, I often combine traditional media (including painting, sculpture, printmaking, etc.) to create works about society of near future and create a strong contrast effect.

Influenced by the theme of 'metaverse', which has been discussed in 2021 (metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focusing on social connections. In futurist and science fiction, the term is often described as an iteration of a hypothetical Internet, a single, universal virtual world facilitated by the use of virtual and augmented reality headsets. The term has become widely used as a public relations buzzword to exaggerate the development progress of various related technologies and projects.) When a relatively virtual parallel world is created, how do all the time/rules/laws etc. relate to the real world? Does reality influence the virtual world, or does the virtual world create a new order that drives change in the real world? Including gene recombination, digital life and other concepts, I hope to imagine a possibility of the future society based on the current social and technological development, and finally, show the characteristics of human nature in the scientific and technological society through the presentation of the work, and lead the public to think and imagine the future social form.
